Opened on the campus of Stanford University, the Maples Pavilion has hosted collegiate games since 1969. College Cardinals basketball reigns here. Playing their first home game at Maples Pavilion on Jan. 3, 1969, the men's volleyball team lost 95-89 to BYU. Is there parking for Maples Pavilion events?
Parking is available for the Pavilion at Parking Structure 7. It is across from the Maples Pavilion on Campus Drive. Lot 11 is adjacent to the pavilion but is only for season ticket holders. The Varsity and Visitor Center lots offer additional parking.
Is Maples Pavilion seating wheelchair-accessible?
Yes, accessible Maples Pavilion seating is located throughout the facility. Most of the entrances are wheelchair-accessible. An elevator located in the southwest corner provides ease of access to the lower seating options. Concession stands are also accessible by wheelchair. Those seeking more comfortable Maples Pavilion seating can find padded stadium seats on the lower level. Otherwise, seats on the upper level are made of molded plastic and have no backs.
What items are permitted at Maples Pavilion?
Blankets, jackets and permitted foods may be brought into the Maples Pavilion. Bagged items must be in a clear bag. This clear bag must be no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or a one-gallon Ziploc bag. A clutch no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches is also allowed. Considerations will be made for guests with special medical needs and individuals caring for infants. Diaper bags are allowed but will be screened.
Can I get to Maples Pavilion events by train or bus?
Yes, you can get there by bus from San Carlos, Sunnyvale, Mountainview and Google at Sunnyvale. Buses include the 22, Y and Y-LIM. Trains that go from San Carlos and Mountainview are the Baby Bullet and the Limited. There will be a walk from the train station that could be from 6 minutes to 15 minutes. Serra at Campus Drive is the closest stop on the train.
Is there a bag check for fans at Maples Pavilion events?
Yes, there is a complimentary bag check for basketball fans. The bag check-in station is open one hour before game time and it closes 30 minutes after the start of the game.Back to Top
