Tempe's Marquee Theatre on the north side of Tempe Town Lake is a live music venue where you can hear performers like Bowling for Soup, Black Flag and Puddle of Mudd. The auditorium first opened as the Red River Music Hall in 1993. Known for country and jazz performances, the venue closed its doors several years later. In 2003, it reopened as the "Marquee Theatre" with the goal of hosting a diverse lineup of artists. The new owners converted the performance hall to a "standing room only" venue capable of holding over 2,000 people.
