The Masters Hospitality Tickets
The first staging of The Masters Tournament took four years of development, but in 1934, Horton Smith won its inaugural championship. Since that tournament, the event has occurred annually in April at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The par-3 course presents surmountable challenges to its competitors. Founded by veteran golfer Bobby Jones, The Masters has become one of golf's four major championships. Every year, the top pros of the sport compete for the coveted Green Jacket and a cumulative purse of $11.5 million. The week-long outdoor event occurs at a time of year when Georgia weather is at its most changeable, so the tournament offers an on-site hospitality area that fans in attendance may access with an appropriate ticket. Individuals may purchase tournament-only tickets or tournament and hospitality tickets. The members-only golf club is invitation only, so The Masters provides non-members their only access to the course. The Masters offers a hospitality facility just off of the main entrance gate to its golf course. It provides services and amenities including all-day gourmet catering, an all-day open bar in a climate-controlled environment that includes reserved table seating and reserved VIP rooms. The main hospitality facility features a bank of supplementary high definition OLED televisions. Augusta National Golf Club also provides facilities located on Azalea Drive and Magnolia Drive. Club guests may walk or ride between the hospitality areas and the course. What professional golfers have won The Masters back-to-back?
In the history of The Masters, only three times has it occurred that the same golfer won in back-to-back years. Those three golfers are Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. Since tradition requires the previous year’s winner to help the current year’s winner into the Green Jacket, no one knew what to do when Jack Nicklaus won his second in a row. He simply slipped on the jacket himself, but since then, the new tradition is that if the same person wins two in a row, the chairman of Augusta National helps the winner into the Green Jacket. What are some of the highlights of The Masters?
The Masters has been an event to feature some of the best and some of the worst golf. Even the most storied pros like Arnold Palmer have bad days, and those occurrences have resulted in some of the most amazing comebacks and some lamented defeats. In 2017, Sergio Garcia won the tournament, but the following year, Garcia scored the worst score ever on the par-5 Hole 15, a 13. That year, he also put five consecutive balls in the water. In 1989, it was looking bad for Nick Faldo when he shot a 77 on the third round. He came back to win the tournament though, one of his two turns as The Masters champion. It looked bad for Tiger Woods in 2005 when he shot a 74 in the first round, but he came back to win the tournament. What is the dress code for The Masters?
Essentially, attire for The Masters must be conservative and appropriate for the Club. If you dress like one of the pro golfers, your attire will be acceptable. A knit polo and khakis make a good choice. Jeans are prohibited as are high heels, short shorts and face painting. Women may wear a knee-length skimming dress or skirt. Acceptable shoes include sneakers, sandals or loafers. No shoes with metal spikes are allowed. What is the appropriate etiquette for The Masters?
While your ticket garners your entry, your behavior can get you ejected without a refund. The Masters Tournament is held one of the seats of the Deep South, home of "gracious hospitality" and traditional etiquette. Club guests must behave in a polite, respectful, dignified manner at all times. Heckling and noise are not allowed; neither are cell phones, laptops, video cameras or electronics. Spectators may not approach the golfers for any reason. Stay behind the ropes that divide the golfers from the spectators. Tournament volunteers raise their hands or a sign to signal that the crowd must be quiet and remain still to let the players concentrate on their shots in a distraction-free environment. Politely cheer and clap once the sign is lowered. Use the crosswalks designated by the Club when traversing the course or going to the hospitality areas. Walk, but do not run. Running anywhere on the grounds of the Club is grounds for dismissal. You may bring a collapsible, but not folding, chair without armrests to sit in.Back to TopEpic events and incredible deals straight to your inbox.
