Presented to the world in 1988 by Bob Hope in a nationally televised concert, the McCallum Theatre's founding mission is to provide a world-class performing arts venue for residents of the desert. Is there parking available for McCallum Theatre events?
There is free parking at the theater with additional paid valet parking available under the port cochere on the south side. Attention should be paid to any parking restrictions on the College of the Desert property. There's accessible parking on the west side of the parking lot for those who need the space and have proper, government-issued disability placards displayed.
Does the McCallum Theatre have a camera policy?
Photography, video and the equipment needed for such is not allowed in the theater. Any permissible electronic devices like digital cameras, smartphones, and tablets must be turned off before entering the McCallum Theatre seating area. Cameras with detachable lenses aren't allowed into the venue. For some shows, per artists' wishes, no cameras of any kind are permitted in the theater.
Does McCallum Theatre have a child policy?
Every guest of McCallum Theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Children should be able to occupy their seat quietly during the performances without disrupting other guests. Are concessions available at the theater?
Yes, there are drinks and snacks prior to the show in the theater's lobby. In the main lobby, the bars offer bottled water, coffee, soda, cocktails and wine by the glass along with a selection of fine domestic and imported beers. For the theater's Broadway shows or other shows with an intermission, the McCallum Theatre has a pre-order drink service where you can prepay for your favorite drink before the show starts, and it will be ready and waiting for you at intermission.
