Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs Hockey History
The Bulldogs have put together some amazing seasons since they were founded in 1930, including four trips to the Frozen Four and a 2011 national title that stands as the signature achievement of the program. The program also sent two of their most famous players, Mark Pavelich and John Harrington, to play for the 1980 U.S. National Team that famously beat juggernaut Russia – a game usually referred to as "The miracle on ice." Thanks to an illustrious history and a very strong modern day program, this is a team that fans around the NCHC always keep their eye on.
Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs Hockey Greatest Moments
The 2010-2011 season was simply an unbelievable time for Bulldog backers, as the season started with the opening of the AMSOIL Arena and ended with the greatest victory in team history. After making the NCAA Tournament, the Bulldogs took down Union College and Yale on their way to the National Championship Game, where they edged Notre Dame by a goal. The game also went down at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, just a couple hours down the road from the Bulldogs' usual home ice.
