Minnesota Swarm History
The Minnesota Swarm was founded in 2004 when the Minnesota Wild of the NHL purchased the Montreal Express, a then-dormant lacrosse team and brought them to Minnesota to share the Xcel Energy Center. Right from the start, the Swarm were a hit with their first exhibition game bringing in more than 14,000 fans and setting a National Lacrosse League record for attendance. Several players and officials for the Swarm have received league-wide honors including, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Transition Player of the Year, GM of the Year, Executive of the Year. They've also had players who have won the scoring title, the Tom Borrelli Awarad and the Les Bartley Award. With the Swarm ready to show that they have what it takes to chase a title, there has never been a better time to head out and see this team first-hand as they gear up looking to dominate the rest of their opposition this season.

The National Lacrosse League is an indoor lacrosse league that features five teams in Canada and four in the United States, with all teams competing for the Champions Cup.
