Tickets for Live Events in Mississippi
Mississippi is one of the less populated states in America, yet it has a longstanding affinity with music, entertainment and the arts. The state capital is Jackson, which also happens to be the largest city in Mississippi. Other major urban centers in the state include Gulfport, Southaven, Hattiesburg, Biloxi and Vicksburg -- all of which are home to an enormous selection of theaters, music halls and sports venues.
Mississippi has an emotional connection to many genres of music, many of which come together every year at the Mighty Mississippi Music Festival. Another of the state's most popular annual events is the Jackson Rhythm & Blues Festival, which takes place every August at the Jackson Convention Complex. The Mississippi State Fair is the biggest single event in the state, covering 100 acres and featuring consumer shows, exhibitions and hospitality.
Mississippi is home to some of the most impressive sports and entertainment venues in the country. The Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is the home of the Ole Miss Rebels football team. The 60,000-seat Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium is home to Jackson State University's college football team, and Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field is where the Mississippi State Bulldogs football team is based. Some of the world's biggest musical performers appear at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi.
