Formed in Issaquah, Washington, in 1992, Modest Mouse started life as a successful collaboration between lead vocalist Isaac Brock, bass guitarist Eric Judy and drummer Jeremiah Green. Simultaneously described as alternative rock and indie rock, the band has achieved mainstream success on the strength of its eccentric style. The band members may have changed - the legendary guitarist for the Smiths, Johnny Marr, joined the band between 2003 and 2009 - but the raw, emotional edge has stayed the same.More Than Modest Talent
When he was just a teenager, Isaac Brock met fellow bandmates Eric Judy and Jeremiah Green around the Seattle area. The result of their initial collaboration was the extended play album Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect? in 1994. Though constant delays compelled the band to shelve plans for its original debut album entitled Sad Sappy Sucker, Modest Mouse regrouped and released This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About as its first studio album on April 16th, 1996. The band's second and third albums, The Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon & Antarctica, respectively, both continued to refine and hone its unique sounds. Modest Mouse achieved major breakthrough success with its fourth album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which came out on April 6th, 2004. The album received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album, while the hit single "Float On" received a nomination for Best Rock Song. The band's follow-up album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, was at one point the best-selling album in the United States and Canada. After an eight-year hiatus, during which the band underwent significant lineup changes, Modest Mouse returned in 2015 with Strangers to Ourselves, which peaked at No. 3 on the US chart. Modest Mouse has appeared at the Voodoo Music and Arts Festival in New Orleans, the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, the MO POP Festival in Detroit and the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The band was one of the premiere acts at Coachella 2013, during which it continued to play for the audience after the sound was cut off.Where can I buy Modest Mouse tickets?
