Montana Lady Grizzlies Women's Basketball TicketsThe Montana Lady Grizzlies women's basketball program had its first season back in the early 1970s (1974-1975). The majority of the years since then have seen the Lady Grizzlies make it to tournament play. They have also won many of those tournaments as well as quite a few regular-season championships. For most of the team's history, the head coach was Robin Selvig. His first season with the Lady Grizzlies was 1978-1979, and he retired from the program after the 2015-2016 season with an impressive overall winning record of 865-286 and a tournament record of 455-109. After he left the program, the Lady Grizzlies would continue their tournament-appearance streak that started back in the 1982-1983 season under Selvig. They would make it to the Big Sky Tournament three years in a row under their new coach, Shannon Schweyen. Get your Montana Lady Grizzlies women's basketball tickets at StubHub.
Where do the Montana Lady Grizzlies play their home games? The Montana Lady Grizzlies women's basketball team plays its home games at Dahlberg Arena. The facility takes its name from George "Jiggs" Dahlberg, who was heavily involved in the athletic program at the University of Montana. After undergoing renovations back in 1998, the arena can now hold 7,000-plus people. All the seating is chairback except for one section of bleachers.
What is Coach Schweyen's background in basketball?Coach Schweyen stepped into former Coach Selvig's shoes. Before her arrival, Coach Selvig had been the leader of the Lady Grizzlies for decades, and Schweyen was his assistant for 24 years, which may partially explain the ease with which Schweyen has dealt with many of the difficulties the team has faced under her watch. Her first year as the leader saw the Lady Grizzlies lose major players early on in the season, the consequences of which were devastating to the team's win-loss record. However, despite these setbacks, Schweyen was able to rally the troops into the Big Sky Tournament that year as well as in successive years. In college, Schweyen played ball for Montana and did phenomenal work on the court. She was named as a Kodak All-American twice and was also voted the No. 1 Greatest Female Athlete of the Big Sky Conference.

Cherri Bratt, Class of 1984, helped lead her team to 20-win seasons four years in a row. In 1983 and 1984, she was voted as the team's Most Valuable Player and was honored as the Outstanding Defensive Player in 1982. When she graduated, she left with the record for the most career steals and still holds it to this day.
