The Music Box Theatre is located in Midtown Manhattan and was constructed by Sam H. Harris and Irving Berlin, a music composer. Harris originally pitched the theater's creation to Berlin as a place for the composer and songwriter to house his music and put together a musical revue. The theater opened in 1921, and it soon became an ideal showcase for other shows as well. In 1925, Humphrey Bogart performed in the play Cradle Snatchers. In addition, the play Chicago, which would go on to become a famous musical, was performed in 1926.
