NCAA Baseball Lubbock Regionals TicketsOn an annual basis in May and June, the NCAA holds the Division I championship culminating with the College World Series. A total of 64 teams compete for World Series title, and the NCAA chooses 16 of those schools as regional locations. The regionals consist of four teams that compete using a double-elimination format. The winners graduate to the Super Regionals and compete using a best-of-three format. The Super Regional winners move on to the CWS’ double-elimination round. The two teams that reach the College World Series final play a best-of-three series. What is the selection process for the NCAA Division I baseball tournament?The NCAA chooses its 64 teams based on two pools of candidates. Each conference champion automatically earns a slot, accounting for 31 entrants. The other 33 entrants are selected by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee. The Committee also determines the top eight seeds in the competition.
How does the NCAA choose its host schools for the NCAA Baseball Lubbock Regionals?From its 64-competitor field, the NCAA chooses 16 regional locations to host the initial round of the competition. If they win their regional, the same school may host a Super Regional competition. The No. 1 seed of each region usually becomes the host. The NCAA also considers geography and finances in choosing Regional and Super Regional hosts. The teams remaining in the competition bid to host or to replace the host if the Super Regionals' host loses its team. Regional hosts benefit from homefield advantage, last at bat, a boost in tourism in the city and publicity coverage for their team.

They successfully won the Regionals and Super Regionals in the years 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019. The university is also the only one in the nation to have hosted a regional competition four years in a row, 2016 through 2019.
How is the tailgating scene at the NCAA Baseball Lubbock Regionals games?The Texas Tech University Red Raiders organize family oriented tailgate events, which the school encourages all to attend. Red Raider baseball organizes events for grandparents, parents and students alike. Typically, they take place three hours before the game and include food, games and live entertainment. These events take place in the parking lot between Marsha Sharp Freeway and 19th Street. There are parking lots that allow alcohol consumption on campus, but these are specifically designated. You can bring your own alcohol to consume in these lots, located in Raider Alley only.
