The New Britain Bees joined the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in April 2016, making it the team’s inaugural season at New Britain Stadium, which is just outside of Hartford, Connecticut. Regular season Atlantic club rivals include the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, Lancaster Barnstormers, the Long Island Ducks, the Bridgeport Bluefish, the Somerset Patriots, the Sugarland Skeeters and the York Revolution.
With a play area for the kids, fun promotions and the chance to watch talented up-and-coming players, a Bees game is an affordable, fun way to spend quality family time. During its inaugural season, Major League organizations scooped up several Bees players, including Eric Fornataro (Baltimore Orioles), Nick Greenwood (Minnesota Twins), Josh Zeid (New York Mets), Cole Johnson (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Josh Outman (Pittsburgh Pirates).
About the Atlantic League
The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is the pinnacle level of play for professional baseball players, second only to Major League organizations comprised of the National League and the American League. Young players typically progress through Single A, Double A and Triple A levels before earning a spot in the Atlantic League. Many Atlantic League players accrue time on Major League fields during their careers and several go on to become professional players on a Major League team.
Not only does the Atlantic League provide players the best chance of playing in the big leagues, but it also provides affordable family entertainment for residents living in an Atlantic League town.
New Britain Stadium
New Britain Stadium is located in Willow Brook Park at 230 John Karbonic Way in New Britain, Connecticut, adjacent to Beehive Field—former home to minor league baseball team the Rock Cats, and Veteran’s Memorial Stadium, where local soccer and football teams play.
The stadium offers reserved and general admission seating in a split-level configuration as well as skybox suites on either side of the press box. Kids can enjoy the venue’s play area while mom and dad can grab a cold beer at the outdoor grill and bar behind third base. Parking is available for a small fee, with overflow parking in a grassy area nearby.

The New Britain club chose bees as its name to honor the city’s industrial history and motto, “industry fills the hive and enjoys the honey.”
The gold outline surrounding each letter on the team's logo alludes to honey and even incorporates a stylized beehive.
