With their teen-friendly beats, cute smiles and choreographed dancing, New Kids on the Block became superstars as part of the boy-band resurgence in the late-1980s. Better known as NKOTB to their legions of screaming super fans, the group was discovered in 1985 by legendary producer Maurice Starr. Their 1986 self-titled bubblegum pop album was released on Columbia Records, but it wasn't until the release of their 1988 single Please Don't Go Girl that the group began to climb the
Billboard
charts. The subsequent album,
Hangin' Tough
, went eight times platinum and hit No. 1 on the
Billboard
Hot 100 by the end of 1989, breaking up in 1994. The band reunited in 2008 and has been playing nostalgia-fueled, feel-good concerts ever since.
Five Working-Class Guys From Dorchester
The members of the New Kids on the Block grew up together in the blue-collar Boston suburb of Dorchester, including brothers Jon and Jordan Knight and friends Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood. Over the years, the group has released seven full-length studio albums and a 2017 EP, completed six headlining tours and five co-headlining tours and won two American Music Awards. Their recent New Kids on the Block tours are must-see events for fans who loved the group as young teens and want to celebrate with their friends, singing and dancing to the songs they played endlessly on their Walkmans and boom boxes.Where can I buy New Kids on the Block tickets?
