US Open

Each year, Flushing Meadows, NY, in the borough of Queens, morphs into the capital of the tennis-loving world when the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center plays host to the US Open — the highest attended annual sporting event in the world (think 700,000-plus fans over 14 days). The 2019 edition, slated for Aug. 26-Sept. 8, will showcase the world's top players from both the ATP and WTA Tours, including Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Naomi Osaka, Nick Kyrgios, Simona Halep, etc. Check out all the hard-hitting action in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand and Court 17; grab your US Open tennis tickets at StubHub.  

New York Metro Venues

New York City and its environs form such a nexus of culture and action that it's home to not just one team, but two for several of the major sports. Leave Yankee Stadium aglow in the dulcet sound of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York," or head across the East River to Flushing's Citi Field to catch the New York Mets in action. Not a baseball fan? New York is also home to the New York Giants, the New York Knicks and many other major sports teams. For your cultural fix, there are countless historic theaters lining Broadway and the surrounding neighborhood, such as the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, the Gershwin Theatre and many others. Madison Square Garden is the premier spot to catch major touring performers — and here at the cultural center of the world, it's nothing but the cream of the crop.
