The most famous occurred during the 2017 running. During the 2017, the New England Nationals almost became the first NHRA National to have three female winners. It ended up having two and a runner-up. It began when Brittany Force bested Antron Brown in the final round of Top Fuel Eliminator. The trend continued in pro stock when Erica Enders topped Tanner Gray to earn a Wally, ending an almost two-year drought. However, Matt Hagan would break up the female trifecta as he stopped Courtney Force in the final round of Funny Car Eliminator.
