Endless Forms Most Beautiful, released in 2015, is certified double platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry Finland (INFP Finland) and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard US Top Hard Rock Albums chart and No. 34 on the Billboard 200. Once Upon a Nightwish
Originating from Kitee, Finland, Nightwish was formed in 1996 by Tuomas Holopainen, Emppu Vuorinen and Tarja Turunen. Holopainen's original vision for the band's sound was similar to that of campfire music but with additional atmosphere added by his keyboard. The band recorded two demos, the second of which, Angels Fall First, became its debut album. The electric guitar performed by Jukka Nevalainen on Angels Fall First added a heavy metal element to the band, establishing Nightwish's distinctive sound. The group's success rapidly grew in Finland, and by the release of its fifth studio album, Once, Nightwish was making waves internationally as well. Once contains one of the band's most popular singles, "Nemo," and enabled the group to launch the Once Upon a Tour in 2004 and perform in countries it had never previously visited. Following the recording of the live concert DVD End of an Era, the band dismissed vocalist Tarja Turunen via an open letter. Nightwish released Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum with Anette Olzon as lead vocalist. During the Imaginaerum World Tour, Olzon was dismissed and replaced by Floor Jansen. Endless Forms Most Beautiful was released in 2015 with Jansen on vocals.
