On Your Feet is a jukebox musical set to the songs and hits from multiple Grammy winner Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio Estefan, who is also a renowned musician and producer. The musical is a biography that is heavily inspired by the rising careers and developing relationship between the Cuban-American musicians Gloria Estafan and Emilio Estafan, who traveled from Cuba to Miami to pursue a better future. Over the course of their lives, the couple's relationship developed steadily. Eventually, together, they made a huge impact on Latin American music. They are one of the most successful and influential couples in the music business. Nostalgic but lively, the musical On Your Feet flashes back to their youth and follows their journey across the seas to success. Among the musical numbers are the hits from their music catalogue that had brought them so much recognition and awards. On Your Feet premiered at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago back in 2015 before moving to the Marquis Theatre on Broadway a few months later. While on Broadway, On Your Feet ran for two years and staged over 700 performances before finally ending its engagement.From Broadway to Tours
On Your Feet staged its world premiere performance at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, Illinois in 2015. The engagement starred Ana Villafañe and Josh Segarra as the Estafans and was directed by Jerry Mitchell, a two-time Tony Award winner. The show was choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, a four-time Drama Desk nominee and Olivier Award winner. In addition, On Your Feet was produced by James L. Nederlander, who had successfully produced over 90 productions during his career. After its Chicago premiere, the show soon made its way over to Broadway and then around the world to the Netherlands and London's West End.
