Ookay tour dates
Californian DJ and producer Ookay burst onto the scene when his early releases charted in the Beatport Top 10. Since then, he has graced the Billboard charts with a succession of solo releases and collaborations, including the hit singles "Thief" and "Chasing Colors." In addition to performing his signature mix of EDM and hip-hop at festivals worldwide, the San Diego-based star is now selling out clubs and concert halls on his own headline tours.
Born Abraham Laguna in Chula Vista, California, Ookay began producing EDM in his early 20s. Initially performing under the stage name Leisure, his creative, high-energy tracks gained him a cult following and numerous Beatport hits. As his career blossomed, he ventured out into a more trap-oriented style and began performing under the stage name Ookay.
In December 2013, Ookay self-released his first single, "Sahara," on digital platforms. A few months later, he teamed up with Dutch EDM duo Showtek and released the single "Bouncer" through Showtek's record label Skink Records in March 2014. An accompanying music video appeared on YouTube two weeks later. Later that year, he performed at the legendary Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and released his debut EP, Ghost, through Steve Aoki's record label Dim Mak Records in November 2014.
After releasing several more singles, Ookay dropped his first Billboard-charting single, "Thief," on digital platforms in March 2016 and uploaded the accompanying music video to YouTube just five days later. The track appeared on multiple Billboard charts, peaking at No. 12 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, No. 14 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart, No. 27 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Sales chart and No. 29 on the Spotify Velocity chart.
Following the success "Thief," Ookay self-released several more singles ahead of his second EP, Cocoon, in October 2016. A few months later, he dropped the single "Stay Forever" in time for Valentine's Day 2017. Later that month, he teamed up with EDM producer and DJ Marshmello to release the single "Chasing Colors," featuring vocals from Billy Ray Cyrus's youngest daughter Noah Cyrus, through Marshmello's record label Joytime Collective. The track peaked at No. 31 on the U.S. Billboard Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Sales chart.
After performing at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ookay released the single "Lighthouse," featuring singer-songwriter Fox Stevenson, in September 2017. A month later, he embarked on his headline tour, the Wow! Cool! Tour, with support from Stevenson. The Ookay tour included stops at major American cities, such as Las Vegas, Atlanta, Seattle, Tampa and Detroit, as well as appearances at Creamfields in Hong Kong, China and Santiago, Chile.
