This first Fan Fest featured Phillip Phillips, a past American Idol winner, whose album “ ”The World from the Side of the Moon“ ” debuted at No. 4 on the charts. This debut album went platinum plus and featured the five-time platinum smash hit “Home.” The first Fan Fests were available at an additional cost. In 1996, it moved to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, where it currently remains. It is the second-oldest bowl game in the US. Traditionally, the Orange Bowl hosted the champion of the Big Eight Conference during the 1950s through the 1990s. From 1998 until 2013, the Orange Bowl was a member of the Bowl Alliance.
