OV7 tour dates
One of Latin America's greatest pop music successes, Mexican group OV7 boasts a strong international following. The group produces infectious tunes that consistently reach impressive heights on Latin charts. The band consists of Mariana Ochoa, rika Zaba, Ari Borovoy, Oscar Schwebel and Lidia Avila. Occasionally, M'Balia Marichal joins the group's permanent members. The band brings an electric atmosphere to each show, with fans eager to get on their feet and dance to the enticing rhythm.
Before OV7 tickets became a hot commodity, young fans referred to the band as La Onda Vaselina. Actress Julissa sparked the band by gathering a group of young musicians in hopes of creating a new version of Grease (known as Vaseline in Mexico). The project proved successful, leading to a children's band designed to fill a longstanding niche in the Mexican music scene. As its members grew up, however, the group took on a more sophisticated sound. This evolved music featured unique rhythms and surprisingly jazzy chord structures.
OV7's live experience
Undeniable energy marks every OV7 performance. The group attracts massive crowds, which pack major arenas. Despite this, each concert has an intimate feel in which attendees feel as if they're part of a big, happy family. The group's musicians encourage fans to sing along, especially when stripping back for occasional acoustic performances. Most concerts feature recent music, as opposed to the group's earliest works. However, longtime fans can expect to hear a few familiar pieces from the early days, as well as occasional covers.
OV7's hit albums
The members of OV7 hit their stride with the release of their first studio album, appropriately named CD 00. This initial studio album debuted band member Kalimba. Selling over 2 million copies, it ultimately proved the band's most successful album. Sony Music highlighted CD 00 as one of 100 essential albums to invest in before the world's end.
OV7 followed CD 00 with 7 Latidos, or, in English, 7 Beats. The sophomore album featured several infectious tracks, with some critics refer to it as OV7's best work. Their third album, Point, proved popular among loyal fans. Loris Ceroni produced CD 00, 7 Beats and Point.
Following a lengthy hiatus in which members pursued solo careers, several of the band's key musicians gathered again to produce and perform new music. Fans applauded this return. The group quickly released En Directo Rush, follow by a live album. Forever7 featured memorable covers of familiar songs. These covers boasted a modern sound and distinctively danceable beats worthy of the club. Several of the music videos prompted by these covers became YouTube hits, racking up millions of views.
