Peter White's background
A multi-instrumentalist raised in Letchworth, England, Peter White also plays piano, violin, clarinet, accordion and harmonica. Influenced by the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Jethro Tull, his first break came with an opportunity to tour as Al Stewart's keyboardist, a partnership that would last some two decades.
The duo co-wrote and performed dozens of songs, including the Top 10 hit "Time Passages." White has also appeared on several other albums, including releases by Windows, Basia and Creed Bratton. In 1990, Reveillez-Vous, his first solo album was released, quickly followed by three more albums in the next four years. By 1996, he was signed by Columbia and continued to release numerous albums while maintaining an ambitious tour schedule.
Peter White's solo albums
After playing backup for 15 years, White would wait until 1990 before he released his first solo album; followed by 14 more full-length albums, including 2016's Groovin. Between 2001 and 2012, all six of his releases made the U.S. Jazz Albums Chart, including Glow, Confidential, Playin' Favorites, Peter White Christmas, Good Day, and Here We Go.
Good Day (2009) peaked at No. 2, while 2004's Confidential and 2012's Here We Go both reached No. 3.
