A modern hitmaker with more than 150 singles to his credit, Pitbill has already sold more than 65 million records globally. Born Armando Christian Pérez on January 15, 1981, Pitbull began recording tracks in 2000 under a variety of different labels until releasing M.I.A.M.I., his debut album, in 2004. It was his fourth studio release, Rebelution, in 2009 that gave him his first breakout hit, "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)." After that song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US, Pitbull went through a massive rebranding as a pop artist. A track on his very next album, Planet Pit, called "Give Me Everything" hit No. 1 in the US and, in 2013, his song "Timber" hit the top of the charts in 20 countries.
In addition to his music, Pitbull is known for his activism, particularly helping the Latino community, where he grew up. Through projects such as his Tuition-Free Public Charter, Sports Leadership and Management (SLAM!), he aims to close the poverty gap via education. He also transported cancer patients affected by Hurricane Maria in his own private plane from Puerto Rico to the US for treatment. None of these humanitarian acts, however, have slowed him down from performing live for fans. He has had seven major tours since 2009, including one, the Rebelution Tour, that ran two years (2009-2011) and another, Pitbull: Time of Our Lives, that ran three years (2015-2018). He also still finds time for small and cameo roles in television, movies and video games.
