Portland Pilots Women's Basketball TicketsThe Portland Pilots is on a rebuilding mission. When first-year coach Michael Meek and his team take the floor in 2019-20, they will be looking for the team's first winning season since 2010. Portland has been fielding a women's basketball program since 1977. The Pilots have an all-time 588-617 record. Since joining the NCAA's Division I, they have gone 421-548. In its 32 years in the West Coast Conference, the team is 186-290 in conference play. The team was ranked first in three season: 1991-92, 1995-96 and 1996-97. They made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances between 1994 and 1997. They have been to the Women's NIT (WNIT) twice, in 1998 and 2009. Meek brings a mostly-new coaching staff to the Pilots' bench. For the 2019-20 season, two of his three assistants are also in their first year at Portland. Who is the Portland Pilots head women's basketball coach?Michael Meek became the Portland Pilots women's basketball coach on March 27, 2019. He is the program's sixth coach. Meek previously spent nine seasons at NCAA Division III George Fox, where he amassed a 230-35 record. His teams made the NCAA Tournament eight of his nine seasons and played for the national championship in 2012 and 2015. He was named Northwest Conference (NWC) Coach of the Year three times, including 2019. He coached four All-America players, one of whom was also an Academic All-American. Meek contributes actively to coaching scholarship and practice. He has published articles in Women’s Basketball Magazine and is credited with developing five basketball coaching instructional videos. He also speaks regularly at coaching clinics throughout the west. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Oregon University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University.

She also leads in 3-point field goal percentage (.403) and steals. She grabbed 318 steals in 119 games for an average of 2.7 steals per game.
