Hailing from the vast wild wonderland known as Canada, Randy Bachman spent his early years in Winnipeg, displaying a knack for music that would earn him a position studying music and violin at the ripe young age of 5. Despite his early flirtations with classical music, he would soon be won over by the bad boys of rock as he became heavily influenced by the likes of legendary performer Elvis Presley and famed abd boy guitarist Chet Atkins. His love for music would see him cross paths with legendary guitarist Les Paul, who personally taught Randy the chords to the timeless track "How High the Moon". In the early 60s, Bachman began experimenting with various musical projects, founding the group Al and The Silvertones, which would later change its name to The Guess Who. The group experienced mainstream success during the latter half of the 60s, with the band's number one hit "American Woman" catapulting Randy directly into the music media mainstream.
A new decade would bring new opportunities for Randy, with him recording his debut solo album in 1970 after his departure from The Guess Who. He would them move on to form the country oriented act Brave Belt, which would eventually morph into the Mercury Records signed act Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The band would dominate the early and mid 70s, until Randy departed the group in 1977. He would form various other rock groups, including the rock duo Ironhorse, and today remains active both with his solo career as well as reunions with the various musical acts he associated with during his rise to fame during the 60s and 70s.
2007's Jukebox is a recent piece of the Randy Bachman discography, a rock tome that dropped in the Sony BMG music label alongside collaborative partner Burton Cummings. The album received positive reviews from critics, including receiving praise from AllMusic, and consisted mostly of cover tracks from the music that influenced Bachman during his early years. Tracks covered include "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You" (the Beatles), "Like a Rolling Stone" (Bob Dylan), and "Little Queenie" (Chuck Berry).
Randy Bachman's religious beliefs would consistently clash with the rock and roll lifestyle associated with many of the bands he played with. His band mates' partying would be part of the impetus for Randy departing from so many different musical acts.
From start to finish, the Randy Bachman concert experience delivers all the hard hitting rock sounds that only a five decade veteran as talented as Randy can deliver. Whether he's opening with solo tracks or closing down with your favorite The Guess Who Jams, don't miss your chance to catch this living legend live and in the flesh. Get your tickets today!
