Newbury Real Ale Festival Tickets
Saisons and India pale ales, lagers and tripels: the multitude of beer styles offered at the Newbury Real Ale Festival is just as fun as the rock 'n' roll acts that have performed on the festival's event stage over the years. Taking place annually in mid-September, the long-running beer fest has grown significantly with every new iteration. In recent years, the fest's organisers have been known to welcome more than 200 different beer, cider and wine options from all over the United Kingdom.
The Newbury Real Ale Fest hits the town of Newbury on the second Saturday of every September. With each cycle, the event "focuses" on an area of Great Britain and welcomes a disproportionate number of brewery and winery offerings from that terroir, but also brings in a round-p of other brews and wines from outside areas, too. To sip some samples, those with Newbury Real Ale Festival tickets buy tokens to participate in tastings (although two come with the ticket cost). Proceeds benefit the nearby Naomi House, a hospice organisation for children and young adults, as well as the Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club.
The Newbury Real Ale Festival Live Entertainment
Some critics of the beer festival believe that the atmosphere at the Newbury Real Ale Festival is more like a music fest than one celebrating beer, which is likely due to the fact that the event organisers are sure to book bands that are highly engaging -- there's no background noise here. In years past, the festival has welcomed local acts like Darklight, Emma Lawrence, Lance Skybaby and the Small Town Saviours, as well as cover bands paying tribute to Guns 'N Roses, Oasis, Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Every year, the list of breweries, cideries and wineries in attendance changes, though the lineup always remains diverse. Those with Newbury Real Ale Festival tickets have noted the annual selections as being particularly representative of local breweries, with past beer lists offering craft brews from Burton Bridge Brewery, Old Bike, Palmers Brewery, Mr. Drundy's Brewery, Box Steam Brewery, Bingham's Brewery, Two Cocks Brewery, Wadworth & Co and more. The festival does, however, also include a limited selection of offerings from select brewers and vintners outside England as well.
The Newbury Real Ale Festival Experience
The Newbury Ale Festival has grown so much since its founding that the event now attracts over 4,000 people every year. The event is family friendly and guests are encouraged to bring along their children as well as picnic baskets and blankets for snacking throughout the day. Typically, the weather is slightly chilly around the fest's time of year, so ticket holders should be sure to bundle up while there.
