Real Madrid CF in Vitoria-Gasteiz tickets

Founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club, Real Madrid CF is the most decorated club in European football history. Based in the Spanish capital, Los Blancos have called the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu home since 1947, a venue that holds over 80,000 fans and has hosted World Cup finals, European Championship finals, and some of the most iconic nights in the sport. The honorific "Real," meaning "Royal" in Spanish, was granted by King Alfonso XIII in 1920.

Real Madrid built its dynasty during the 1950s under president Santiago Bernabéu, who oversaw the signing of Alfredo Di Stéfano and the construction of the club's legendary home ground. That era produced five consecutive European Cup titles between 1956 and 1960, a feat that cemented the club's reputation on the global stage. The 1960s team, known as the Yé-yé, added a sixth European Cup in 1966. Domestically, the club won 12 league titles in 16 seasons between 1953 and 1969, establishing a level of sustained excellence that few clubs have matched.

The tradition continued through the 1980s with La Quinta del Buitre, a generation of homegrown players including Emilio Butragueño, Manolo Sanchís, and Míchel, who delivered five consecutive La Liga titles. Real Madrid's Galácticos era in the early 2000s brought global stars like Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Luís Figo, and David Beckham to the Bernabéu, while the club's modern Champions League dominance from 2014 to 2024 produced six titles in eleven seasons. Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined for a then-record €94 million in 2009, became the club's all-time top scorer with 450 goals in 438 matches. The academy system, La Fábrica, has produced stars like Raúl, Iker Casillas, and Dani Carvajal, supplying more players to Europe's top five leagues than any other youth setup.
