Roméo Elvis: finding his sound
Looking at the family of Roméo Elvis, it would be easy to assume that talent is in the blood: his father is singer Marka, his mother comedian Laurence Bibot, and his little sister is pop princess Angèle – the siblings collaborated on the 2018 single "Tout oublier" that broke the record for weeks spent at the top of the Belgian charts. Growing up in such a talented household, it was little surprise that the young Roméo Elvis began expressing himself musically, but he developed his own distinct style during his formative years, perfecting his craft as a beat-maker and rapper. Regularly teaming up with members of the rap crew L'Or du Commun, Roméo Elvis soon became a well-known figure in the Belgian hip hop scene and was performing live and amazing crowds with his smooth lyrical delivery. Having become a proficient performer with an arsenal of hit records behind him, Roméo Elvis is now a rapper very much in-demand at home in Belgium and right across Europe. Sweet like "Chocolat"
The career of Roméo Elvis took a notable turn when he began working with producer Le Motel, who introduced a more jazzy and contemporary sound to the artist who had previously been rapping over old-school beats. Discovering they had amazing musical chemistry both onstage and in the studio, the pair collaborated on two editions of the "Morale" mixtape, to much acclaim, and went on to tour across Europe, including appearances at huge music festivals like Dour Festival and Rock en Seine. As an established artist, Roméo Elvis has featured on a number of hit singles, adding his slick rapping style to Lomepal’s "1000 °C" and the Caballero & JeanJass track "Incroyaux". His first studio album, "Chocolat", in which Roméo Elvis worked with some of the world’s leading producers, was released to much critical acclaim and is evidence that one of Europe’s most exciting young rappers has a bright future ahead.
