Ruben Hein Tickets
Savour the light pop jazz of Ruben Hein
Ruben Hein is a Dutch jazz and pop pianist and singer, who has also earned recognition as a first-rate composer of light jazz music. His eclectic musical taste meant that he grew up listening to a diverse array of artists, and this has resulted in a multitude of interesting inflections in his music that give you echoes of much loved pop songs from as far back as the 1950s. It's a frothy concoction that appeals equally to hardcore jazz fans and those who like to keep it on the light side with a friendly bit of pop-infused swing. He's a delight to listen to, as you'll soon find out – just buy or sell Ruben Hein tickets on StubHub.
A jazz pianist in demand at major European music festivals
Ruben Hein didn't develop the typical musical tastes for a jazz pianist. He's always loved keyboard music of many forms, and as a kid, his favourite listening material comprised Beach Boys, Beatles and Paul Simon albums – although he soon discovered the likes of Miles Davis and Ray Charles too. It was only in high school that he decided to try and pursue a serious music career in the jazz scene and enrolled at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, focusing on jazz piano. While completing his studies, he played in a few jazz ensembles, most notably joining Hans Teeuwen's band, and later spending some time playing with Pete Philly & Perquisite. It was once he went solo and signed his own contract with the Blue Note jazz record label and released his debut album, "Loose Fit", that his career took off. Almost overnight Ruben Hein tickets started becoming hot items at the most prestigious jazz festivals around Western Europe. He accepted invitations to perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival and Eurosonic Noordeslag, which gained him large numbers of new fans.
Expanding his repertoire with orchestral collaborations
Ruben Hein moved onto a bigger stage, so to speak, when he began collaborating with other musicians and orchestras on stage. A highlight was his performance with the Metropole Orchestra, a light music ensemble very popular in Holland, where he appeared with English soul and folk singer-songwriter Jonathan Jeremiah. The CD recording of this enjoyed strong sales after the event. Later on, he performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra alongside Oleta Adams and recorded an album with Ernst Glerum on bass and Joost Patocka on drums. His love of music has taken him down many pathways, and he's as equally at home just being a member of a band as he is performing solo. Witness his two-year stint playing keyboards for another UK singer-songwriter, Fink, in 2014 and 2015. It's this down to earth quality that makes his music a joy to listen to, and his live concerts a special experience. Go and treat yourself to Ruben Hein tickets on StubHub today.
