The women’s volleyball team was established in 1977 and they have a record of 618-760 as of last season. They have appeared in one NCAA tournament in 1979 and twice in EAIAW championships in 1980 and 1981. They were the 1982 Atlantic 10 Tournament champions and have appeared in 10 conference tournaments, including both the Atlantic 10 and Big East Conferences. The Scarlet Knights Women’s Volleyball team’s winningest season was 1979 when it had 44 games, and the team's best winning percentage was .857 (30-5) in 1972. The 1978 season was also the season the team had the fewest losses. The team had an 18-match winning streak at its home court from Oct. 30, 1999 through Nov. 9, 2001. Who is the coaching staff for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights women’s volleyball team?Caitlin Schweihoffer, also a member of the AVCA East Region All-American and the NCAA National Post-Graduate Scholarship committees, took over as head coach for the Scarlet Knights women’s volleyball team in January 2020. Schweihoffer spent just one season as head coach for the Northeastern Huskies women’s volleyball and five seasons with the LaSalle Explorers women’s volleyball team. While at LaSalle, she was named the 2018 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. Schweihoffer is assisted on the court by Assistant Coaches, Steve Santonastaso and Robbie Belden.
Where is the home court for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights women’s volleyball team?The College Avenue Gym serves as home to the Scarlet Knights women’s volleyball team as well as the Rutgers wrestling team. With seating for 1,200, the intimate venue is also known as "The Barn" due to its outside appearance.
