Ryan Field is the official home of the Northwestern University Wildcats football program. It is located near the university campus in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago. Ryan Field opened on October 2nd, 1926, making it one of the oldest stadiums in the United States. Though the venue was originally known as Dyche Stadium, the university agreed to rename it in 1997 to honor the contributions of Aon Corporation Founder Patrick G. How can I access the stadium by public transportation?

Both the Central Street train station, served by the Metra's Union Pacific North commuter line, and the Central station, served by the CTA's Purple Line, are located two blocks away from the stadium. You can take one of the rail lines to the station from the Chicago area. Shuttle and bus services are available as well.

Does the stadium have on-site parking?

Guests attending Ryan Field events will find seven parking lots located right next to the stadium. These are reserved for guests with parking permits. If you do not have a parking permit, then you will need to use one of the free campus or city parking lots located several blocks away from the stadium. RV parking is available in the parking lots near Noyes and Sheridan streets. Street parking near the stadium is limited. Guests must follow strict rules while parking along the street, so keep this in mind. Shuttles run from the parking lots throughout the campus and downtown areas.

Does the stadium offer disabilities services?

Single-game disabled parking, located in the west parking lot, is only available on a first-come, first-served basis. Season-long parking permits for handicapped spots can be purchased ahead of time to ensure that you have a guaranteed space. The season-long passes allow you to park in both the east and west lots. Accessible seating is located in certain sections on the east and west sides. A drop-off and pickup area is located on Ashland Avenue.

What concessions are available at Ryan Field?

In addition to the typical gameday fare, Ryan Field features numerous specialty foods, including jumbo chili cheese dogs, gluten-free pizza, Italian beef sandwiches, barbecue nachos, a Wildcat nachos helmet, grilled cheeseburgers and bratwursts and chicken, pork and tofu sandwiches. Selection may vary depending on the event.

Does Ryan Field allow tailgating?

Tailgating is allowed in the east and west lots without a permit. These lots open up around four hours before the start of the game. You can also tailgate in the north and south golf lots if you have obtained a permit ahead of time. Tailgating is also allowed in one of the free parking lots around campus.

Does Ryan Field have premium seating?

Ryan Field seating offers a few different premium seating options. The Stadium Club, located on the west side, features a climate-controlled interior, private restrooms, television screens, a buffet and cushioned seating. The box seats, located on the east and west sides between rows 18 and 23, feature chair-back seating in groups of four or eight. The Wintrust Wildcat Den, located on the west side, features chair-back seating, heaters, private restrooms and concessions.Back to Top
