Saint Andrews Hall was built in 1907 as a meeting place for the Saint Andrew's Scottish Society of Detroit. The brownstone building has a main ballroom with a stage for larger performances. The basement also accommodates entertainment on a smaller scale and is known as The Shelter. This small but mighty hall has hosted many up-and-coming musical acts including Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Adele, Tool, Nirvana, R.E.M., the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and No Doubt. It is best known for being one of the first places Detroit's own Eminem performed. More recent performers have included John Legend, Halsey, Kacey Musgraves, The Weeknd and Matt Nathanson.
