The San Jose Giants have been the Class-A Advanced baseball affiliate for the San Francisco Giants since 1988. The team was immediately successful as they didn't post a losing record until the 1997 season. The Giants made the postseason their first four seasons in existence, and seven of their first nine seasons ended in a playoff appearance. They finally won a championship in 1998, but it's the 2009 team that is widely considered the best in the history of the franchise. The 2009 squad put up a franchise record 93 victories, which was the most in the California League since the 1994 Modesto A's posted 96 wins. That 2009 season was in the middle of a historic run of 10 consecutive postseason appearances for San Jose. Most recently, the Giants ended a three-year playoff drought in 2019. The team only went 66-73, but a strong showing in the second half of the season saw them get back into the postseason.
