Sarah Millican on Tour
Award-winning standup comedian Sarah Millican brings another round of delightful witticisms that only she can deliver to audiences everywhere. Don’t miss the chance to hear more about this saucy woman’s everyday life from boyfriend issues to bodily behavior.
Growing up a self-described shy girl in South Shields, no one suspected that Sarah would end up on stage, radio and television, much less host her own programme. A bitter divorce provided the impetus (and fodder) she needed to get on stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008 with her show Sarah Millican’s Not Nice. She won the festival’s Best Newcomer comedy award. She returned to Edinburgh in 2009 and 2010.
It wasn’t long before Sarah began hosting her own shows. In 2010, she offered fanciful advice to the lovelorn and troubled on her radio series Sarah Millican’s Support Group. Her television series The Sarah Millican Television Programme won two BAFTA nominations. Her standup has received six British Comedy Award nominations and earned the title Queen of Comedy from The People’s Choice. BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour named her one of the 100 most powerful women in the U.K.
Millican has been a guest on a number of television programmes, including Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have You Been Watching, Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Panelist appearances include Loose Women, Deal or No Deal and Marriage Ref. She has delivered her standup comedy on the likes of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Live at the Apollo, Frank Skinner’s Opinionated, Royal Variety Performance and Comic Relief.
Her DVD releases include Chatterbox Live, Thoroughly Modern Millican and Home Bird. The first release broke sales records for a DVD featuring a female comic.
