Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the best known Broadway creators to date, and he managed to completely change the world of Broadway when he introduced a heavy rock element into his musicals. Since 1968, when Webber released his first musical, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, he has released over 20 musicals. Some of his best-known musicals include Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Evita. Every time he has created a new musical, Webber has pushed the envelope and created masterpieces such as "Memory" and "All I Ask of You." It was in 1965 when Webber began creating musicals after he met lyricist, Tim Rice. While Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat was Webber’s first major musical, it was Jesus Christ Superstar that made him world-famous in 1971. Webber’s musical, The Phantom of the Opera has been viewed by over 80 million people throughout the world and is Webber’s most successful musical.
