The SheBelieves Cup is a four-team women's soccer invitational played each year in the United States. The SheBelieves slogan was first conceived by the US Women's National Team as a way to encourage young women to accomplish their dreams, which now suffuses the SheBelieves Cup. Founded in 2016, the SheBelieves Cup tournament involves a round-robin format with all teams playing a single match against each other (total of three matches per team). Points are assigned based on the match outcomes: three points for a win, two for a draw and none for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament is declared the champion. Three separate venues in the United States are chosen to host the matches. The locations of the venues change every year. The United States, England, France and Germany participated in the first three cups. However, the 2019 tournament also features Brazil and Japan along with England and the United States.
