Something Rotten! Baltimore Tickets
Something Rotten! combines shameless spoof and outrageously comical performances in a parody of all things Broadway and Shakespeare. This musical features rollicking song and dance numbers that include synchronized “Rockettes” dancing lines to the “jazz hands” of Bob Fosse. As it weaves witty highbrow and lowbrow humor together, it tells the story of two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, who seek to write a hit play and out-shine Shakespeare in Elizabethan London.
From the director of Broadway’s Aladdin and the co-director of The Book of Mormon, this musical has become a fan favorite since its 2015 Broadway debut. With critical acclaim in the New York Post and New York Magazine and a host of award nominations, Something Rotten! continues to thrill audiences as it tours throughout the United States.
It’s 1595 and two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom despise the rockstar status of Elizabethan playwright Shakespeare. Determined to outdo him, they find a fortune teller who foretells the future of the stage: singing, dancing and acting combined into a new art form—the musical. The brothers set out to write the first musical and in the process hilariously parody all that is Shakespeare and the modern Broadway musical.
