About Something Rotten!
Playwrights Nigel and Nick Bottom hate, hate, hate their contemporary rival William Shakespeare. The two brothers detest his rhyme and rock star status in 16th Century Elizabethan London. While the brothers can’t seem to write one successful play, Shakespeare produces hit after hit. Desperate, they turn to a fortune teller to learn what will be the next hit for the stage. The seer tells them singing, dancing and acting will combine in a revolutionary new form of theater called "the musical." Determined to beat The Bard, they set out to create this new stage form, only to flop again. Now even more desperate, they look to succeed in any way they possibly can. As their outlook dims, hilarity ensues and jokes fly in this parody of Broadway musicals and everything Shakespeare!
