Something Rotten Memphis Tickets
Something Rotten Memphis tickets
Shakespeare believed there was something rotten in the state of Denmark, and this comedy posits a world in which two struggling playwrights think there is something rotten with Shakespeare. The laugh-out-loud production takes place in the 1500s, and follows two brothers who consider themselves in competition with William Shakespeare. Fans of Shakespeare will appreciate the cheeky nod to his biggest works, but you don't have to be a connoisseur of Shakespearean history to appreciate the show. Given the success of the show on Broadway, Something Rotten! tickets are a popular item.
Something Rotten Memphis background
Something Rotten! was written by brothers Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick. The pair had the idea for the musical back in the 90s, but they didn't start collaborating with John O'Farrell on songs until many years later. By 2010, they were ready to present their early treatment to a producer. The first workshop for the play happened in 2015, with an expected opening date in April 2015 in Seattle. When a spot opened on Broadway, the team adjusted their plans and opened the production at the St. James Theatre in late March 2015. Something Rotten! ran for more than 700 shows on Broadway before closing January 2017. The national tour began shortly thereafter, which includes the Something Rotten! Memphis tour stop.
Something Rotten acclaim
