Based in the Spokane Arena that seats 9,916 for hockey games, the Chiefs serves as a developmental program for young hockey players up to the age of 20 who want to acquire valuable experience for their future in professional hockey. The franchise moved from Kelowna in British Columbia to Spokane in 1985, becoming one of the first Canadian junior hockey programs in the United States. After a brief stint in Germany, he became the head coach of the Swift Current Broncos with which he won the 2018 WHL Championship and Coach of the Year honors.
