Starset tour dates
American rock band Starset has garnered a huge following with its hit singles "Monster" and "My Demons." Known for blending hard rock with string arrangements and electronic accents, the group has built up a big fan base with its ever-expanding repertoire of cinematic rock songs. Since making its live debut in Salem, Ohio, in November 2013, Starset has supported Halestorm and In This Moment on tour and performed at high-profile music festivals and events such as Fort Rock Festival and Rocklahoma Music Festival. The band has also hit the road on its own international Starset tour.
Downplay vocalist Dustin Bates founded Starset with musicians Ron DeChant, Adam Gilbert and Brock Richardson in Columbus, Ohio, in January 2013 and created a fictional backstory that forms the basis for the band's music. The group signed to record label Razor & Ties and released the single, "My Demons," in August 2013. The track peaked at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart in October 2014 and spent a record-breaking 41 weeks on the chart.
In July 2014, Starset released its debut studio album, Transmissions. The 13-track album debuted at No. 49 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, making it one of the highest-charting debut albums for a rock group that year. It also appeared on multiple U.S. Billboard charts, peaking at No. 5 on the Top Hard Rock Albums and No. 12 on the Alternative Albums charts. Shortly after charting the album, the band released a novel, The Prox Transmissions, detailing its fictional backstory.
After releasing Transmissions, Starset dropped two singles, "Carnivore" and "Halo," in October 2014 and May 2015 respectively. Both tracks reached No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. A deluxe version of Transmissions, featuring acoustic recordings and remixes of previously released tracks, followed in February 2016. In October that same year, Starset dropped the single "Monster" ahead of its second studio album, Vessels. The single entered multiple U.S. Billboard charts, peaking at No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock and No. 27 on the Hot Rock charts. It also reached No. 3 on Loudwire's 25 Best Hard Rock Songs of 2017 list.
In January 2017, Starset released Vessels to critical acclaim from Loudwire. The album marked the band's evolution from hard rock to a more diverse, multirock-genre sound. Vessels charted in multiple countries, reaching No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Top Alternative Albums and No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts. The album track "Satellite" was released as a single in August 2017 and peaked at No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
