After starting out in music performing in a variety of bands, including several that achieved mainstream success, Steve Winwood went solo in 1977, starting with his eponymous debut solo album. As a solo artist, Steve Winwood has released nine studio albums, two live albums, six compilation albums, 25 singles and a soundtrack album. His albums Arc of a Diver, Back in the High Life, Roll With It and the compilation album titled Chronicles were certified platinum, some two or three times. Two more of his studio albums, Talking Back to the Night and Refugees of the Heart, one live album, Live from Madison Square Garden, and one compilation album, Revolutions - The Best of Steve Winwood, were all certified gold.
