Styx TicketsStyx is one of the top classic rock bands of all time and consists of members who came together in Chicago, Illinois, in the 1970s. They created a unique sound that incorporated some of the electronic elements emerging at the time with guitar and other classic instruments. The electronic elements are especially distinct on some of their later songs such as "Mr. Roboto." Styx broke into several solo acts but came back together in 1990 to tour again. Their lineup now includes most of the original members of the band with the exception of their former lead singer.
First Four-Time Platinum BandOne of the feats that Styx achieved over the years is that it was the first band in history to have four consecutive albums go platinum, which means that all four albums sold a minimum of two million copies apiece. This started with the 1977 album The Grand Illusion and ended with the 1981 record Paradise Theatre. Greatest Hits (Volume 1), which the band released in 2005, went double platinum. Eight of the band's songs made it into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, including "Come Sail Away" and "Lady." Fans of the television series Supernatural are familiar with the Styx song "Renegade," which played in several episodes.
