Born in Detroit, Mich., Quatro made her musical debut at an early age as part of her father's jazz band, the Art Quatro Trio. Inspired by the Beatles, Suzi and her sister later formed an all-female garage band called The Pleasure Seekers. The band changed its name to Cradle in 1969 and played in concerts and festivals across the country. Suzi Quatro released her first full studio album, Suzi Quatro, in 1973, which found success in Australia, Austria, Germany and the UK. She worked with producers Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman in the '70s to hone her distinctive style. Over her long career, she has released multiple studio albums, and she released a live album in 1977 titled Live and Kickin. Her albums combined to sell more than 50 million copies. She was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2011. Also known as a prolific actor, Quatro played Leather Tuscadero on the TV series Happy Days, and occupied the lead role of Annie Oakley in the West End production of Annie Get Your Gun.

Quatro's numerous solo hits include "48 Crash," "Daytona Demon" and "Your Mamma Won't Like Me." Two of her songs, "Devil Gate Drive" and "Can the Can," reached No. 1 on the UK charts. "Can the Can" alone sold approximately 2.5 million copies, making her one of the first female bass guitar players to find major success in the mainstream. "Stumblin' In," which features a duet with Chris Norman from the band Smokie, was her biggest hit in the US, reaching No. 4 on the charts.
