From 1946 until 1993, the game was played at the Gator Bowl Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. In 1994, it was moved to the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium while the old Gator Bowl Stadium was torn down and replaced with the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, which is now TIAA Bank Field. Sponsors have included Mazda, Outback Steakhouse, Konica Minolta, Progressive Insurance and Toyota, and the game has changed names accordingly. Florida and Clemson are tied for the most appearances in the TaxSlayer Bowl with nine each. Georgia Tech is just behind them with eight appearances. Some of the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl MVPs since its inception include Mike Kelley (QB) of Florida, Jerry Butler (SE) of Clemson and Dez White (WR) of Georgia Tech.
