Temple Of The Dog Tickets
Temple of the Dog Concert Schedule
It's been 25 years since Temple of the Dog released their one and only album and for the first time ever the super group, featuring members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, is going on tour. The Temple of the Dog concert schedule is going coast to coast with limited dates in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
Temple of the Dog formed in 1990 with a lineup featuring some of the biggest names in the Seattle scene: Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, Matt Cameron and Eddie Vedder. Tickets are in high demand as the band celebrates the 25th anniversary of their eponymous album with a short fall tour.
Temple of the Dog Background
Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell started Temple of the Dog in 1990 as a tribute to his friend, Mother Love Bone lead singer Andrew Wood, who died that year of a heroin overdose. As Cornell began writing songs about his late friend, he decided to transform the small project into a full-fledged band, and thus Temple of the Dog was officially born. One year later, the band released its debut album, which was recorded in just 15 days.
The album received critical acclaim and it achieved moderate success on the Billboard charts, anchored by the hit song “Hunger Strike.” In the early 1990s, Temple of the Dog performed at a variety of premier concert venues, such as the Hollywood Palladium, the Santa Barbara Bowl and Lollapalooza, but it never went on a proper headlining tour.
Temple of the Dog was only active for two years before its members went on to gain widespread international fame with Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, both of which continue to record and tour. The band as reconvened for surprise reunions at Pearl Jam concerts at various points over the years. However, fall 2016 will be the first chance for fans to experience the band’s first (and only) official tour in 25 years.
