Graystone and the Red Raiders were up to the task in the 2019 season. With an overall record of 17-13, the team’s Big 12 record of 7-9 was their best conference record since 2002. Despite losing 2019 All-Big 12 First Team outside hitter Emily Hill, the future of women’s volleyball at Texas Tech is looking bright this season. Fan favorite Caitlin Dugan finished second to Hill with 269 kills and 302.5 points during the 2019 season, and fans are excited to see what she can bring this year. Sophomore setters Alex Kirby and Tatum Rohme combined for 1,190 of the team’s 1,418 sets in 2019. Kirby added 145 digs for the year. Who are some of the biggest conference matchups for the Red Raiders?Two of Texas Tech’s Big 12 conference opponents finished the 2019 season ranked in the top five programs in NCAA Division I volleyball. The Baylor Bears finished ranked No. 1 and the Texas Longhorns landed at No. 4 in the final women’s RPI of the year. In Big 12 standings, the Oklahoma Sooners and Iowa State Cyclones finished just above Texas Tech.
Who are some of the most notable players for the Texas Tech Red Raiders?Emily Hill was named to the All-Big 12 First Team in 2019, joining Missy Owens who was named to the conference first team in 2018.
