Those who love indie rock often emphasize the authenticity that's involved. The Antlers, a band from Brooklyn, has been acclaimed for how beautiful their music is and how much raw emotion is involved. On record and live, The Antlers can be the perfect accompaniment for dealing with all kinds of intense feelings.Made in Brooklyn
The Antlers is the brainchild of Peter Silberman. Initially, it was a solo venture with music that Silberman had self-recorded. He released his first album, Uprooted, in 2006. He also signed with Fall Records, which ended up releasing his second album, In the Attic of the Universe, in 2007. More members joined the group and helped to record subsequent EPs Cold War and New York Hospitals. In 2009, Silberman and The Antlers had a major moment with the release of the album Hospice. This was a concept album that found parallels between being in a toxic relationship and trying to delay someone's death. There was major acclaim for this album as many found it to be extremely heart-wrenching. The lyricism and musicianship on display added greatly to the experience. Hospice was released through Frenchkiss Records as was the band's followup album, Burst Apart. This proved to be a successful followup to its breakthrough as it retained the emotional power of its predecessor while also going in a different direction. The band had more success with its next album, Familiars, which was released through ANTI- and peaked at No. 73 on the US Billboard Top 200 albums chart upon its release in 2014. After a few years of relative silence from The Antlers, Silberman announced that the band was working on a new album. The Antlers has also toured around the world and performed on television series such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It has also appeared at many prominent musical festivals, such as Pitchfork, Bonnaroo, All Tomorrows Parties and End of the Road.Where can I buy The Antlers tickets?
