As danger closes in, their love grows deeper and their professional and personal relationships blur in a breathtaking story of love’s power to overcome.

The Bodyguard won the 2013 WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical. The show also received four nominations for Britain’s prestigious Olivier Award, including Best New Musical. The U.S. tour features Grammy-nominated pop/R&B superstar Deborah Cox.

The Bodyguard comes to the New Orleans stage at the recently renovated Saenger Theatre. Destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina, the theater reopened in 2013 fully restored to its original magnificence and is now New Orleans’ leading performing arts hall with a regular schedule of Broadway shows, concerts, comedy and more. The Saenger Theatre is an easy trip by car, public transportation or on foot for those staying near the French Quarter.

“I Will Always Love You” was originally written, composed and recorded by Dolly Parton.
The musical was already in the early stages of production in 2012 at the time of Whitney Houston’s death.
The concept and the original screenplay for The Bodyguard were developed by Lawrence Kasdan (of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Empire Strikes Back fame) in the 1970s. Kasdan wrote it with Diana Ross in mind for the female lead role.
