If you're wanting to enjoy a hilarious evening of irreverent laughs, look no further than The Book of Mormon, which is being staged in Minneapolis. The play tells of the adventures of two young missionaries from the Mormon Church, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as they make their way to Uganda in the hope of recruiting new converts to the church. Elder Price is a handsome go-getter with thoughts of changing the world while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a portly funny fellow who's just happy to be with Elder Price. They're in for some surprises though as the village they're stationed at in Uganda is run by a domineering warlord known only as The General. This musical is a laugh riot from start to finish and features polished musical numbers that you'll remember for a long time. Be sure to catch the show when it makes a stop at the Orpheum Theatre, which originally opened in the 1920s in downtown Minneapolis. The Musical Only These Guys Could Write
The Book of Mormon was written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the deviant minds behind TV's favorite cursing elementary school cartoon, South Park. Trey Parker said he had the idea to write the musical when he saw Avenue Q and thought "Wow, this is actually really good." He's also said there's nothing better than a good musical, and he puts one on with every The Book of Mormon performance. There's nothing so sacrosanct as not to be funny for these guys, and the play takes no prisoners in poking fun at the Mormon Church, AIDS, chaos in Africa and God.Where can I buy The Book of Mormon Minneapolis tickets?
