The Book of Mormon Seattle Tickets
The Book of Mormon Seattle TicketsThe Book of Mormon is said by some to be one of the funniest musicals you'll see in your lifetime. With 16 original songs and the witty writing of two comedy legends, this play will have you on the edge of your seat and rolling in the aisles. The Book of Mormon points out some of the oddities and redeeming qualities of the Mormon Church, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The play follows the travels and adventures of two young missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, as they get their assignments and then move to Uganda to bring the Ugandan people to their church. The first song they hear when they arrive in Uganda is called "Hasa Diga Eebowai," which the audience learns means "F*** you, God." This is an abrupt introduction of the missionaries to their mission, and their immersion in local surprises only continues from there. The songs are fun, jazzy and snappy, and there is even a brief chorus line. The humor is irreverent, bawdy and intended for mature audiences.
Winner of Nine Tony AwardsWhen The Book of Mormon first hit the stage on Broadway, the reviews were glowing from fans and critics alike. That high spirit translated into a big day at the Tony Awards in 2011, following the show's first Broadway run. The play had raked in more Tonys than any other show that year with nine, including the award for Best Musical. The other Tony awards The Book of Mormon won that day were for Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Orchestrations, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design.
